I just finished Don Miller's new book A Million Miles in a Thousand Years. The basic conceit of the book is that Don wants to write a better story with his life, and tries to explain some of the ways he discovered this and how it turned out.
The book is wonderful, you should purchase three copies. Beyond that, it made me think of a few things that I would like to do with my life in the relatively near future. I would like to tell a better story. Here are a few things I plan on accomplishing sometime in the next 12 months or so:
- See more peoples lives get changed by God in The County™ (specifically I'm expecting to average 300 people doing church with us each Sunday by July)
- Be a more thoughtful and caring husband (I don't have any measurable goals here, I'm starting by buying gifts for Melissa more often. Let me know if you have any suggestions.)
- Be a better employee by pushing Canonical's web presence to world dominance. (Any thoughts on this one would be welcome also)
- Take two trips outside of Florida that have nothing to do with work and to states (or countries) I've never seen before.
What are you planning to do?
